The word pharmacy has been deriver from the Greek word “pharmakon” that means the drug. It is a health profession that includes the fields of the chemical sciences and health sciences. This word can also imply to the institutions that are made for this purpose. The very first pharmacy was opened in Europe in Trier in 1241. This is still in use.
The root of the term pharmacy lies in “pharma” that was used since 1400s to 1600s. In addition to the services of the pharma, it also supplied the services on medications and a wide variety of services that in the present time are performed by the specialists of surgery and other mid wifery.
