Stop Smoking – What You Should Do?

Filed under: Health — admin @ 11:12 am

It’s a very important time in your life when you decide it is time to stop smoking At this point you have decided it is time to regain control over your life and quit your smoking habit. The decision to quit smoking is much harder to break than it ever was when you made the decision to stop. Knowing how to break the habit is very important to being successful and this means you really need to take some time to review all of your options. They look like cigarettes, feel like cigarettes, taste like cigarettes, but they come without any of the detrimental health problems. Electronic Cigarettes have been flying off the shelves in Europe, but have only just become available in the U.S.

Formulating a plan is a better idea than just trying to quit without some idea of how. If you are working towards a plan which includes several well laid out goals you are going to be much more likely to succeed. However, simply taking a chance and hoping for the best may be your best option. Having a plan will ensure you have something to fall back on rather than the typical hold and wait and see what happens plan.

You should review all of the options for stop smoking aids that are on the market. They all claim to help you stop smoking and there are literally dozens of them. Certain products work for certain people and some of the products don’t work at all, but normally you will find one that suits you. This means if you are not well suited to the product, it will not be very effective for your venture. It is critical to your own personal success to find a product that works for you. Even though certain products will have worked for thousands of other former smokers, it does not mean that product will work for you.

You need to then look at a calendar and pick out a date to quit. This is very important because having a date picked out gives you something to look forward to. Don’t think of this as a toil, instead think of it as an exciting adventure. The more you look forward to your start date the better chance you have mentally for starting your new plan and actually continuing through to the end. As part of your plan you may want to pick out days on the calendar where you will reach smaller goals. A smaller goal may be just a day where you don’t smoke at all, don’t forget to reward yourself, however small, when you achieve this goal.

Stay away from people who will be negative toward your plan, this is very important. Your quest to quit smoking will start to wane as your self-confidence lowers.
